AFGE has endorsed Sen. Frank Lautenberg for re-election to the U.S. Senate. Please see the attached statement. The NJ primary is coming up in early June.  Lautenberg's opponent, Rob Andrews, who is also a friend of AFGE, is way down in the polls.  This week, the Bergen Record reported that Lautenberg outpolls Andrews 50 percent to 23 percent among men; 48 percent to 15 percent among women; 49 percent to 20 percent among white voters; 51 percent to 11 percent among black voters; and 43 percent to 27 percent among voters of other races. Democrats who described themselves as conservative preferred Lautenberg over Andrews 35 percent to 24 percent, while moderates preferred him 57 percent to 18 percent and liberals 52 percent to 21 percent.
